About

Dr. Christine Gieben

Psychologist, PsyD

As a therapist, my primary goal is to support clients on their journey towards a fulfilling and authentic life. I create a compassionate space for self discovery and growth.

You may have been in therapy before or have been interested in self-growth, but are now looking to go further. Ultimately, my hope is that our work together will lead you to a greater sense of self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience, allowing you to live a life that is truly authentic and fulfilling.

Spirituality

I am experienced and comfortable with integrating spiritual, yogic, and alternative practices into our work together. I understand that spiritual beliefs and values can have a powerful impact on your mental health, whether you are currently grappling with a transition in spirituality or want to align your values more with a particular practice or simply want to work with someone who can hold the complexities of different faiths, values, or beliefs, you will find a safe space here.

Therapeutic Approach

Internal Family Systems (IFS) alongside mindfulness, polyvagal theory, attachment theory, and yogic practices inform an integrated approach to healing and self-discovery. I work from an integrated approach dedicated to whole body healing. To learn more about the theories I incorporate in my work, you can read here...

Prep and Integration of Psychedelic Therapy/ Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

I am experienced in supporting clients before and after their psychedelic therapy experiences, helping them to prepare mentally and emotionally and integrate their insights into their daily lives for lasting transformation. I also do supportive therapy around Ketamine treatments. Please reach out if you want to learn more.

I work with…

Individuals

Are you ready and committed to doing the work of self-exploration and healing? You may have been in therapy before and have a sense of what you want. You understand that lasting happiness comes from how you see yourself and your life, rather than just changing external circumstances.

My approach to therapy is focused on helping clients create new patterns and ways of being, while also healing from past experiences. I use a variety of techniques and modalities, including IFS "parts" work, polyvagal theory, attachment theory, and mindfulness, to help clients gain greater self-awareness and self-compassion.

I believe that therapy is not just about intellectual understanding, but also about being able to be with and process difficult emotions. Are you curious about your own experiences?  Are you open to trying new approaches such as meditation, yoga or even psychedelic therapy?

If you are ready to embark on a journey of self-exploration and healing, I invite you to schedule a session with me.

Couples

Couples who are committed to working towards a more fulfilling and satisfying relationship, but need guidance or help, whether a particular communication issue or a larger pattern, are a perfect fit. I know that it can be difficult to navigate the complexities of a long-term partnership, but I also have seen time and again that it is possible to find new ways of interacting with each other, which can actually be the impetus to greater intimacy and connection.

My approach to couples therapy involves creating a safe and non-judgmental space where both partners can feel heard and understood. I work with each couple to identify their unique strengths and challenges, and I provide practical tools and strategies to help them navigate difficult situations with greater ease.

Fulfilling and intimate relationship requires both partners to be honest, open, and transparent with each other. By working together to cultivate these qualities, couples can deepen their connection and find greater satisfaction in their relationship. If you are ready to put in the work to create a more fulfilling and satisfying partnership, I invite you to reach out and schedule a session today.
